Hello friends and fans of Lori Albert Designs.
Today I start my blog, and journal my design activities while I patiently wait for spring to arrive. The fact that the cherry trees on our street actually blossomed and then froze this week when we got dumped with snow, makes me wonder if we will even see a TRUE cherry blossom showing this spring. D. C. camera toting tourists beware...
The reason I mention this, is that my favorite palette for Spring and Summer is the combination of nudes, pale pinks, whites and blush. I have been designing with this scheme for 3 years now, so I'm excited to see all the stores showing nude, white and pink tones for spring summer '17. Now back to the cherry blossoms. You may find it odd, but my inspiration comes in weird ways and from odd places. I actually got out of my car to pick up the frozen blooms that fell off the trees in my development to study the color up close. It was pale pinky blush. I held the bloom up to my gypsy wrist of bracelets. That's the color all right. Now for the fashion connection - here's what I saw in Bloomingdales just last week. Blush away!
